Dark Vengeance Librarian

Hello! One mini that I was missing in our tutorial game was the Librarian, so now I have to fix that before our next session...

As I´ve done with the bikers, I had to get rid of the too many Dark Angel details to get the Librarian fit in my own chapter... Original DV Librarians shoulder pad was just too much for my sculpting blade to handle, so I decided to take an Terminator arm from my DA veterans box, and on that, I added a shoulder pad from my bitz box. To cover the DA symbols on the chest (and to get blessings from the 40K dice Gods:) I glued on some Purity Seals.

The shape of the "Blade of Caliban" suits the mini just fine... Successor Chapters have to follow some traditions and heritages...

Hope I get to paint it soon... Bye now!

First Dark Vengeance Biker Painted

Hi there! We finally got around to play the tutorial missions of the Dark Vengeance box with my friend (well, the first four anyway)... And we had a really good time. I had pretty much all the Marine minis painted that I needed in the missions, but my bikers had just the primer on them... So after playing the game I found some inspiration to give the first of three some washes and highlights and stuff... Here´s some pics.

I replaced the bolt pistol with a flamer with this one... and I cut the wings off from the back of the bike. They had too much Dark Angels mood in them. My Chapter "Serpents of Hellfire" are DA successor chapter, but I don´t want them to look precisely like DA marines. I also knifed the DA symbols off the mini...

I take the high lights just abit over the edge, to give the Serpents armour some flaming feeling... I used to drybrush the "effect" before on my earlier SoH marines, but I like more "clean" high lighting at present :)

Serpents of Hellfire marines don´t usually wear black helmets. I decided to paint the bike squad helmet black, to honor the Ravenwing of the Dark Angels... The coolest unit in 40K :)

Well these guys also have to have a cool name! I thought I´ll call the 2nd Company of the SoH the "Serpent Sting"  Swift, poisonous and... cool! :D

Bye now!

Descent Props: Bone Heap

Hello! Got little something done again... This time for Descent board game. Actually these fine pieces are Micro Art Studio Skulls Bases, 25x25mm. There are five of them in a blister, and I ordered quite many, for RPG and Descent use.

These are small things in the game, but I really believe they bring some extra tone in the gaming experience...

Original FFG Bone Heap props are just great, but even so, there´s just big difference in 2D...

And 3D. Next thing for Descent is going to be Money and Chest markers, that I ordered from Dark Art Studios... as soon as they arrive and get painted :) Bye now!

Epic Scenery: Woods

Hello! This time I found my scenery making inspiration as I was at the park with the kids. I was standing next to some Grey Alder trees, and I found some small cones fallen from the tree...

I picked some of them up and got an idea of making Epic trees out of them. And here´s how they turned out...

I tried them on a piece of foam... and they looked really treelike already :)

I decided to sculpt an proper base for them from a bigger piece of foam... Just used a carpet knife on it. and glued the trees on.

I sanded the base and painted it with Steel Legion Drab, then washed it with nuln oil. Drybrush with Ushabti Bone. For the trees I used Warboss Green overbrush, then drybrush with mix of Warboss Green and Golden Yellow. Glued some grass there too... And there you have it. Simple and cheap.

Biel-Tan Rangers advancing through the woods...

Bye now!

Epic Eldars: Windrider Troupe

Hi there! Not much painty time lately, but I managed to get these little things done :)

Windrider Troupe consist of six Jetbikes (200pts). Any number of Jetbikes can be replaced with Vypers at no additional cost... I added one to this squadron, but I have two more Windrider Troupes coming... With more Vypers in them :)

I tried to keep the painting simple as possible... Just the white stripes and the "red lights" as details.

So now I have 950pts Biel-Tan painted... Still pretty much to paint, to get the 1500pts :)
