Miners United: Two more Blockers done!

Hi there! Now with two more blockers done, the team is almost ready, with only the Death Roller unpainted. Well... I'm gonna repaint the other six players that have an older paint coat, when I got the time. But now there's a massive final FaBa-campaign battle coming, and I have to put my attention to my dear Arachnarok Spider... Well here's a happy group shot of the team!

Two latest Blockers are on the left fank... numbers five and six. You can see the difference in the painting era, when you compare the left six Dwarfs to the ones on the right :) And now it really shows the importance of the colored rings on the bases. I think they will clarify the chaos on the field for the opponent and myself. Bye now!

Long Lost Treasures Found..!

Hi there! Spend an evening at my friends place, where he has storaged some of our old minis, from the time we started the hobby. I was glad to find some of my old Orcs & Goblins stuff there... I thought I'll share the fun... here's the pics of the treasures :)

First some Savage Orcs. I still remember painting these long time ago (So long time ago...)... But can't figure out why I chose to paint the Savages with brown color. Was it in fashion at the time, or is this just my own strange choise of color..? Can't say.

Here's some Black Orcs and Boyz with crossbows... One with a round base. Why?

Finding these made me very happy indeed... My old white plastic boyz. I remember being very proud of painting the "detail" on one of the orc's head... War paint or something. So cool!

Some of my old Gobbo archers too... I use to have at least twenty, but this is a good start. I have to get more of these... Ebay, here I come :)

My friend threw me with these also... Nine Empire Halberdiers. Now I can finally make a full unit of these, with the ones I allready have.

There was other stuff too, but none of them as old as these... so won't post the pics of those. Anyway, this is a good start for an Oldhammer Greenskin army :) I'm excited. Bye now!

Blood Bowl, Miners United: Blocker, Troll Slayer and a Runner

Hi there! More Blood Bowl Dwarfs coming up... I just noticed that the Troll Slayer and Runner are still missing the "white stripes" on their uniform. But anyway, I have taken the pics and here they are :)

Blocker and Troll Slayer ready for action... I decided  to use orange sircle to identify the Troll Slayer.

Now you can see that the "white stripes" make a difference :)

Runner with a yellow sircle... Wings on a helmet are from High Elves spear men box.

Here's the first four of the "new standard" Miners United players... I'll add the white stripes before next group shot :) Bye now!

There will be Blood (Bowl), later this year..!

Hi there! Just talked with few guys from our gaming group, and it seems that we're gonna be starting Blood Bowl later this year, after we get our Warhammer campaign (Blood in the Badlands) in a conclusion... We have the last battle next time.

Well that got me little excited, and I "dug out" my four teams... that are all "underway" :(
But now, for I got a good reason to finish at least one of the teams, I chose one to go on the painting table. And the winner is...

My Dwarf Team: Miners United! They are all made out of old Warhammer white plastics. Little green stuff and crappy convershun here and there... and only half way painted. And there's of course the "Death Roller" if I choose to open the blister and use it in the game. I hear it's not that great in game terms, but it's lot of fun (Kerrunch)! And I think that's what matters in our games :)

Anyways... I gave the unpainted Dwarfs some Dragon Red spray primer, and started with base colours on the first Blocker.

And here it is after the washes and high lights... I added some white stripes here and there, for they look "sporty" :) Miners United logo is on the shoulder. And finally player number on the helmet and...

on the back of the cloak... I'm not putting too much time on these. I think it's most important to keep the palette simple and details on minimum. It makes the team look better as whole...
And I used some green on the lower part of the base, for I'm gonna use the classic color codes on these dudes... Yellow-Catcher (or Runner for Dwarfs), Red-Blitzer, White-Thrower, Green-Blocker, Grey-Linemen. But what shall I use for Troll Slayers..? Orange maybe :)

Commission: Gurps hero out of Shadowblade

Hi there! Another commission from a local Gurps RPG-group. This time I was asked to convert a GW:s Shadowblade to a backstabbing rogue adventurer. "It shouldn't look like dark elf, and the character has a leather armor with a chain shirt"...

Well... I carved out most of the "pointy and spiky" armour bitz, and added a chain shirt out of green stuff.

And here it is assembled and painted. I think I faded out the Dark Elf pretty good with just color choises. There's the standard rangers green cloak, and brown leather armour with some metal strengthenings...

I made a detailed pattern inside the cloak, to make it look more expencive. Characters are quite experienced, so I figured they have the cash for fancy clothes :)

Well, there you have it. Bye now!
