More firepower to my Epic Eldar Guardian detachment... I changed the pose abit, to make it ready for some close combat action. Two more Wraithlords to go. They are nice to paint... considering the Epic scale. More soon...

Epic Scenery: Woods

Hello! This time I found my scenery making inspiration as I was at the park with the kids. I was standing next to some Grey Alder trees, and I found some small cones fallen from the tree...

 
I picked some of them up and got an idea of making Epic trees out of them. And here´s how they turned out...

I tried them on a piece of foam... and they looked really treelike already :)

I decided to sculpt an proper base for them from a bigger piece of foam... Just used a carpet knife on it. and glued the trees on.

I sanded the base and painted it with Steel Legion Drab, then washed it with nuln oil. Drybrush with Ushabti Bone. For the trees I used Warboss Green overbrush, then drybrush with mix of Warboss Green and Golden Yellow. Glued some grass there too... And there you have it. Simple and cheap.

Epic Eldars: Windrider Troupe

Hi there! Not much painty time lately, but I managed to get these little things done :)

Windrider Troupe consist of six Jetbikes (200pts). Any number of Jetbikes can be replaced with Vypers at no additional cost... I added one to this squadron, but I have two more Windrider Troupes coming... With more Vypers in them :)

I tried to keep the painting simple as possible... Just the white stripes and the "red lights" as details.

So now I have 950pts Biel-Tan painted... Still pretty much to paint, to get the 1500pts :)

Epic Eldars: Rangers

Hi there! Instead of starting to work with "Titans" as I planned, I decided to stick with the smaller troops. I painted six units of Biel-Tan Rangers. These little guys are quite important for the Eldar army, for the Rangers and War Walkers are the only Eldar units that can garrison  objectives in the game...

They painted up quite nicely, and the details were all visible with bare eyes. (Sorry about out of focus pics this time)

Rangers cost 25pts per unit, so now I´m up to 750pts painted army :) Bye now!

Epic Eldars 600pts Painted

Hi there! As we all know by now... The Eldars are coming, in the form of upcoming codex. I don´t own 40K Eldar Army (yet), but I have boxfulls of old Epic Eldars in my cupboard. Inspired by the rumours and ongoing Eldar madness I decided to dig them up and continue painting what I started long time ago. It would be nice to have at least 1500pts Epic Army painted. I´m not sure how much I have Eldars, but I think around 6000 pts army... Have to check.
Anyways, here´s what I´ve painted so far...

In the front: Eldar Guardian Warhost (seven Guardian units, one Farseer with Warlock Bodyguard) 150 pts
In the Middle: Falcon Troupe (five Falcon Gravtanks) 250pts
Back row: War Walker Troupe (six Eldar War Walkers) 200pts

War Wakers... It was fun to pose them in different positions and paint.

Old Falcons look great in my taste... Really like the sculpting.

On one of them I had to paint the Biel Tan Craftworld rune...

Next I´m possibly gonna make a Titan for the army... Using these old Eldar Knights (counts as). There´s some cool Bright Stallions and Towering Destroyers in these blisters... We´ll see :)

Epic Stuff

I was cleaning my miniature cupboard few months ago... (Had to make some room for new minis). My wife says that I have too much of those "toy soldiers", so I had to mastermind some way to fit them in the cupboard or listen to nagging all day long...

Anyway... I found a few old dusty boxes from back of the upper shelf. My old Eldar Epic miniatures, still in a box... I remember playing Epic once in the early 90´s, and enjoying it alot. After that we somehow forgot the game, for we played alot of different things back then...


I got really excited of all this tiny stuff, and decided to find out how large army I could put together... (and so I forgot to clean up the cupboard)


I counted that with few extra purchases I could nicely have a 6500pts army according to the latest rulebook... I had easily over 10 War hosts of infantry, over 30 Falcons, lots of Bikes and Artillery... So I ordered a one more infantry War Host from GW and went shopping... from an old collector, who I new, was selling he´s stuff away with silly prices :)

I made some really good deals... with only 2 euro´s per blister. I had to make lot of "Counts as" research with these old minis, because the minis and their names had changed many times since 90´s.

During autumn I even had a little time to paint few of these tiny little things... here they are.

I decided to paint them on Biel Tan colors... a bit of a common choice, but I´ve always liked that color theme a lot.
With a little planning I found a nice way to paint them in a bearable time...
